This rasterfile contains the SCS-SA classes on a Terrain unit resolution for South Africa as developed by Schulze and Schütte.
The SCS classes (A, A/B, B, B/c, C, C/D and D)  is in the attribute table.
They were assigned a corresponding number in CODE_VAL of A=1, A/B = 2, B = 3, B/C =4, C = 5, C/D = 6, D = 7.
Some areas were classified as water and not given a SCS-SA class. The CODE-VAL is 8.
