Atlas Of Agrohydrology 2008 Zip

Auto-imported dataset for AtThe South African Atlas of Climatology and Agrohydrology is an extensive, region‑wide reference compiling detailed spatial and temporal climatic and agrohydrological information for South Africa, Lesotho and Eswatini. The Atlas integrates over two decades of research on temperature, rainfall, evaporation, soils, agricultural production potential, hydrology, natural hazards and other environmental datasets. It draws on climate station observations and uses regression‑based and simulation‑based modelling to extend climatic parameters to unmapped regions, providing a consistent national‑scale spatial representation of climate and hydrology.

The Atlas includes more than 330 pages of text, over 700 maps, 120 figures, 111 photos, and 470 statistical tables. It synthesises data on precipitation, temperature, solar radiation, vapour pressure, relative humidity, potential evaporation, frost, agricultural yields, natural hazards and hydrological dynamics such as stormflow, recharge, runoff and streamflow. These datasets support regional resource planning in water and agriculture, enabling users to understand climatic gradients, variability and long‑term environmental patterns.

Importantly, the Atlas offers “big picture” regional insights rather than farm‑level precision. Values at specific locations are derived from interpolation and modelling processes and should be interpreted in a relative rather than absolute sense. The project consolidates climate databases developed in preceding Water Research Commission (WRC) studies, integrates soils and land‑cover datasets, and incorporates improvements in GIS and computational capability.las of Agrohydrology_2008.zip
